How to compress PDF to 500 KB
- Add your PDF — up to 20 at a time.
- The target is already 500 KB; change it in the options if your form allows a different size.
- Click Compress and download — the result shows the new size.
How the 500 KB target is reached
The PDF is compressed with up to six progressively stronger settings — from high-quality images up to 2,600 pixels on their longest side, down to 800 pixels with strong JPEG compression — and the first result under 500 KB is kept, so images lose no more detail than they must. Text and vector graphics are never re-encoded, so even at the strongest setting the words stay sharp; only photos and scans get softer.
What if my PDF can't get under 500 KB?
You get the smallest version that keeps text readable, with a note that it didn't reach 500 KB. Splitting the PDF or removing pages you don't need usually closes the gap.
Which PDFs can reach 500 KB?
Most text documents and short scans fit easily. Long, photo-heavy PDFs may need splitting into parts.
Can I choose a different size?
Yes — type any number in Target size (in KB, e.g. 1024 for 1 MB). Leave it at 0 to use a compression level instead.
Are my files safe?
Yes. Your files are only used to create your result — they’re never shared and never used to train AI.
